Indeed TR it was Jimmie Rollins who carried over his streak from 2005. It's nice to see these young players break through at the next level. Another one is Joe Mauer and I am somewhat surprised MnMom has not posted about him thus far.

Also, I believe Chase Utley is luvbb's favorite player so I am happy he is having a great year for Philadelphia Next in line is Pete Rose at 44 and then the ultimate Joe D at 56 - a record that will never be broken?

Utley now stands at 31 - he is a hidden gem, I think, as far as the baseball world is concerned. He is hard nosed, busts his tail on every play [ocassionally beats out a routine GB when IF nonchalant's it]. he is always dirty. Best of all - he appears humble - rarely shows any emotion [ much less the self promoting, chest thumping that is so prevalent]. Throughout hsi streak, he refuses to talk about it - they ask him and he completely ignores the question - talks about the pitcher, the other hitters, etc.

I hope nobody finds out about him - we want to keep him here.

Yeah I'm a big Phillies fan and amidst all the bad trades, bad baseball, and bad attitudes on the Phillies this year, Chase offers hope. Along with Ryan Howard they form one of the best combinations of young players in the game(NYM has a good one too). He is the only reason I will continue to watch the Phillies this year. I love when he beats on grounders to second, it's so fun to watch!

32 now!! We won't talk about the rest of the game - looks like Leiber failed his final audition!! 9ER in 4 2/3 won't attract too many people.

He must be good; my son tried to trade for him straight up in his fantasy league for A-Rod and was turned down.

Definetly not a hidden gem in OUR household! Utley is our FAVORITE player...can't tel you HOW MANY all-star ballots we punched out with his name! He's the main reason we still go to Phillies games this season! Utley and Howard....two bright spots for the Phillies this season.
