Has Tennessee’s elevation in the baseball ranks had any impact on Vanderbilt’s recruiting? I realize Vanderbilt recruits nationally. But they also go after the top in state talent.

Vandy recruits nationally and heavily in CA, FL and the Southeast. A good portion from top private HS programs. You will see only a few resident players from Tenn on their roster.
Two different type of programs recruit different type of players.
Vanderbilt does go after the top players in Tennessee. There are five on the current roster. I’m wondering if Tennessee is competing for those same top players now.
I‘m very aware Vanderbilt recruits nationally. Corbin is from New England. He seems to get access to the top studs in New England. The year they won the championship #1, #2, the closer and the cleanup hitter were all from Massachusetts. The current roster has two from Massachusetts, one from New Hampshire and one from Maine.
Let’s face it. Vitello is out recruiting Corbin now that the huge advantage is gone with NIL. Got swept this year by UT and put out.
I would imagine it has an impact on the entire SEC and not just Vanderbilt.
But Vandy has always been able to give every player pretty much a full ride so they have always had that advantage. NIL took that away
