My son has played varsity baseball since the 8th grade. A starter in center field and lead off. He is now a freshman and getting ready for another season. He has played travel ball since he was 11 yrs old and has been playing up at least 2 or more yrs. He was just asked to play on an 18U elite tournamnet team with Frozen Ropes during this summer. My question is...An MLB scouting director will be speaking with my son tonight. Can this affect any NCAA rules? I don't believe so, just checking. thank you.

Unless a friend of the family or some kind of special event, it would be extremely rare that a MLB Scouting Director would be visiting or talking to a freshman.

Are you certain it is a scouting director that will be talking to your son? There are only 30 of them. They are the head of each organizations scouting department.

Sometimes I've heard people call scouts, scouting supervisors, etc., directors.

Anyway, there is no reason you can't talk to any MLB scout at any time. Be a good listener and you might pick up some valuable information.
