Try contacting Ron Wolforth at www.pitchingcentral.com. He is in Houston, but maybe could recommend someone over by you. Very velocity-focused training programs.
Nelson Baseball School in Acworth has a throwing program: NBS Throwing Program. It looks like they haven’t posted dates for this year’s program yet, so you might want to give Brian Nelson a call for more information.
No. My pitching coach works out of the same facility as NBS, so I’ve seen Brian workout with several pitchers. Heard he had a throwing program, so thought I would pass the info along. Have no idea if it works.
I worked out with weighted balls last winter for seven weeks (3 times a week). Can’t remember the exact number of throws, but the program went something like this: threw 20 pitches from the mound using a regulation sized ball, then 12 - 15 throws off the mound with a 8 oz ball, 10 - 12 throws with a 10 oz ball, 8 - 10 throws with a 12 oz ball, and then 20 more pitches from the mound using a regulation sized ball. No significant gains, but did pick up a few a mphs and felt stronger.
