My son received an offer on Monday. Our family went to dinner Monday evening and discussed his options, and Tuesday bsbl jr. called the coach and accepted! I'm proud that he'll be attending a very good academic school and a baseball program that has a chance to reach Omaha each season. My wife and I are happy that he's just a little over an hour away. And now I'm eager to see what they'll make my son wear at next year's UC Irvine Halloween "Spooktacular"? Big Grin

You never know what will happen on the recruiting trail? Honestly, my son has remained relatively cool throughout this process...it was mom and dad that needed to relax! Thank you to those members that I've spoken to via PM's over the last few weeks, I appreciate it! I want to also say Thanks to FOG, as she and I thought our kids might be playing together next year...she was a tremendous help. Things happen for a reason, and I'm excited my son's now part of Eater Nation.

bsbl247,

Congrats to your son and family! That is really fanstastic news. You can look at recruiting through the rear view mirror now. My son was also cool in the recruiting process, as you would expect from a pitcher. My wife and I were to be fitted for straight jackets at times. The Anteaters is by far the most original college mascot out there. Enjoy!
Thanks everyone, I appreciate it.

trojan-skipper: I will put that avatar up as soon as he officially signs. Smile

I have a 2012 daughter that I have to start working on now. All of the attention has been on her brother the last year, so now we are going to find her a school. After eleven years she decided to hang up her basketball shoes this season (I'm bummed, but supporting her!). She is now part of the Student Athletic Training Staff at the high school, and wants to pursue Sports Medicine in college. She informed me that she needs to attend a school with a football program, so that has narrowed our search somewhat. It looks like another year of fun...but without the camps, showcases, and tournaments that come with the territory!

IJAD:
This was not his first offer, and probably not the best for our family financially. However, when weighing the pros & cons, it was the absolute best fit for our son in terms of location, education, and baseball program...all things considered, tough to beat. He's a RHP/OF...
