I am sure that most of you are aware of the murder that occured last week at Clemson University. It is a few miles down the road from where son resides. It is quite bizarre, who would have ever thought that something like this could happen in a small college town.

The community is saddenend and shocked and hope that this be a learning experience to all of us. Tell your kids, male or female that we live in a very strange world, that even living in a safe small town has its downside. I am sure that you have all done that many of times, but would be appropriate to remind them once again.

My prayers go out to the family and friends of this young girl.

Just because you don't live in a crowded urban gangster-ridden ghetto doesn't mean that no one will be murdered. I live in a small city (50,000) where the atmosphere is more like a graveyard of a tiny farmtown. Recently a couple blocks away someone got stabbed, and the street next over from me, some mid-aged lady was arrested when police found her mom stuffed in a closet and found out that she had been dead for 7 years so that the mid-aged lady could collect some money. And the bar down the street was closed off along with the entire intersection, and the only ppl inside the police tape were these 3 black guys wearing black pants and red shirts and bandannas, so apparently we have the Bloods in our little city (no offence to blacks, it's just that the Bloods are a black gang).

So yeah, everywhere you go, there are problems. It's unfortunate, but that's the way things are now in the 21st century. This generation is getting more murderous.
