We are looking to purchase a camera to video kids swings, pitching mechanics, etc. I'm highly confused over all the options and what may work best for a baseball practice setting.
not really schooled in this, but i happened to buy the right one by accident years ago.must have be able to stop frame, slow motion. get those two and you should be all set.
I'm not “up” enough on video equipment to recommend a particular model but I will suggest you use a tripod. I also think the camera with a remote control feature is great when filming hitters and pitchers for instructional use. By using a tripod and remotely controlling the camera allows you to watch the game and the player and not be preoccupied with camera functions. Fungo
I bought a miniDV camera to film my son after he was born. I use it often to film our pitchers and hitters. With most digital video cameras you can use a sports setting which really allows a clear view in slow motion. I hook mine up to my computer and we watch the video on Quicktime Player in slow mo frame by frame.
