Has anyone tried to videotape from dead centerfield? What kind of zoom would you need from 380 ft? Any camera recommendations?

My Sony Handycam works fine. It's a HDR CX300.
I guess the zoom will depend on what you're focusing on. Pitcher? Batter? Both? Whole field?

I was hoping to focus on pitcher/hitter. However would be interested in doing more if possible. What have you videotaped before with your Sony?
I do all my instructional stuff with it. I got that model because it was the only mid-price one I could find with an external microphone hookup feature. All my work with it has been close-up (within 20 feet or so). These days, most cameras do a pretty good job.
I definitely would recommend a tripod though. Cameras are all small/light these days and if you are filming from a distance, you're going to get a lot of shaking. Use a tripod.
