Does anyone have any inside info on W&J's (in PA) baseball program? Obviously they have had tremendous NCAA success the last half-decade or so, but they are one of the few D3s that I know of with a posted JV schedule (already out for 2022). Any insights on their recruiting process or life for student-athletes?
Don’t be fooled and attracted by JV schedules. A JV team is a way a coach recruits additional full pay players to the college. He gets compensated for his efforts. He’s making money for the college.
JV players are unlikely to become varsity players who receive playing time. While a player is languishing away on the JV team the coach is bringing in another twenty something recruits the following season.
