Many of you might not have known Wayne Cowan. He was 94 when he left us on December 22nd. Wayne coached in the Richardson Sports Inc. leagues for years before taking his team (Dal-Rich) into the DABA. I was lucky enough to play for Wayne for 16 years. From a 14 year old till I was 30. He was a quite man who served kids and young men alike. His funeral was Friday December 28th and I read a list of all his players I could recall to pay tribute to this great COACH. Wayne also coached the team at UTD for several years and served them well. There is nothing anyone can do but remember this man in a fitting way. Ironic how HB and Wayne Cowan could both leave the game in the same month and same year.
Baseball will miss them both.
