Lots of different angles here:

1. Normal game, shouldn't bunt for a hit with 6-run lead in the 9th.

2. WBC tie breaker rules maybe made it okay to bunt.

3. I have no problem with pitcher hitting next batter. Too bad he couldn't have done it with the first pitch.

4. I have no problem with batter walking out to mound.

5. BUT, overall the fight seemed to be a little more violent than necessary.

6. Fan was bad to throw bottle at player.

7. Player (#17) was worse for throwing bottle back into stands.

8. Mexico should be pretty embarrassed for the way they played this tournament.

9. Proof positive that the unknown early season intensity is surely there.

So who has jurisdiction here? Who hands out penalties, what might they be and can they extend into the player's home club (MLB or back to their home country)

What would have been really interesting is if Canada had put the 3rd Mexican batter of the 9th inning on base to get to the Mexican 3rd basemen who was on deck. He was the one that precipitated the whole brawl by telling the pitcher to hit the next batter after the Canadian bunt single.

Gotta say I have seen some of the worst attitudes on a baseball field I have seen since park ball . Saw a Brazilian pitcher throw a hissy fit , Zambrano act like a 4 year old and a few other instances of bad behavior . Seems to me these guys would use better judgement seeing as how they are representing their countries . 3rd baseman should've went to pitcher to talk and not let the whole world let you know you are gonna drill a guy .
