Webster is a good school, beautiful campus and setting in a nice community that is about 15 minutes from downtown St Louis.

Usually very competitive in their region.

They play their home games at a minor league stadium, which is a beautiful facility.

Other than their Spring trip, they play pretty close to home, so not too much travel.

Much warmer climate than the 2 Wisconsin schools!

I echo that description of Webster. They made the DIII tournament last year, and their coach does a pretty good job of recruiting. My '09 son likes the program, but wants to go away to school, so we really didn't get too connected. Good reputation.

About the only negative that I've heard is that they will keep a huge amount of freshman who really don't have much of a chance of ever getting on the field.

Good luck.
I played a very long time ago for one season with UW Parkside. It is a Division II school with an ex major leaguer, Jarvis Brown, as coach. It is in a beautiful setting ( a forest). My last season 4 of us signed pro contracts so it is scouted pretty well. The degree is from Parkside will carry some also. Parkside is about 60 miles north of Chicago and 40 miles south of Milwaukee. It has potential to be a good program. They had a terrible year last year. ON a cost benefit: Benefits---1. Ex Major league coach (i.e. some connections); 2. Three major league teams in the vicinity (Cubs, White Sox, Brewers); 3. Beautiful setting; 4. Clean City on Lake Michigan that is beautiful in spring. Costs---1. Winter is winter there; 2. Weight training facilities limited; 3. Ballpark is clean and neat but not fancy; 4. Lack of recent success.
Good luck in your decision.

Correction, Winter is brutal there. If he is not used to a brutal Winter....he needs to be prepared. Gloves, hand warmers, Good 4 wheel drive car to get around. Warm clothes. Although it's a nice environment to snuggle up with your girlfriend by a nice warm fire. (that's the only up-side I can think of when it comes to the wind, snow, cold, bruatal conditions, that one will face there. season starts late (home games) due to weather.
