Websters meeting in February (18th or 19th)

Through the gracious offer of some space (room) from one of the contributing websters, I would like to have a "get together" of those of you who would like to talk baseball, on either the 18th (Saturday) or the 19th (Sunday) of February...at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, at a time when the Chicagoland Golf Show is going on, too.

Options are February 18, 2006 (Saturday) from about 2-4 p.m.; or,

February 19, 2006 (Sunday) from about 2-4 p.m.

Let's hear everyone's opinions and give me an idea if you and your son and your friend or parent might be coming (so I know about how many people to expect)....

Anticipate having a few (3-4) coaches talk about summer ball; college recruiting; and, maybe a pro scout (before they head for Florida and Arizona for spring training) or two.

Plenty of time for many of you to add this event to your busy weekend schedule (s).

Your thoughts and recommendations, please?

Glad you were able to secure some space, but since that is a three day weekend for President's Day, we are planning on driving south to Memphis to see our freshman son play baseball. It's the second week of their season and they will be playing at home that weekend. Unless the weather is lousy to drive, that is.

We have a high school junior baseball player--can we drop him off at your house so that he may attend?

Looks like it is February 18th from 2-4 at the Rosemont/Stephens facility....

Would like an idea of numbers who would consider attending....I'll start:

As Beenthere mentioned in his original post, this get together will take place, at the same time that the Chicago Golf Show is at the Rosemont Convention Center. For those of you that golf, if we know in advance who will be coming, we can have some complimentary tickets for the golf show set aside in will call for the HSBBW crew. The golf show opens at 9AM that day. It should be an enjoyable day.

Just spoke with and received a confirmation that Jim Sammons, assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Chicago State University (formerly at Milliken), will attend (once compliance says it is ok) and answer questions about recruiting; D1 recruiting; and, the Central Illinois Collegiate League (he will be coaching the Galesburg, Illinois, team in the summer of 2006).
