Websters meeting in February (18th or 19th)

How about charging $10 a head to cover the costs of "pop and pizza"? Just a thought.

We want to start something locally for everyone so that they can have a day in February where they can talk baseball and meet some baseball moms, dads, sons...

Now have 24 people who have indicated that they will attend the websters gathering on Saturday, February 18, 2006, from 2-4 p.m., in Rosemont.

Would appreciate everyone who might attend to give us some idea for seating/room size purposes.

Beenthere - I think this is such a great idea! I have talked with some folks in my forum about us doing a "regional" get together, since we have several states in our forum. I'm looking forward to seeing how the IL get-together goes as I think you might be abe to give the rest of us some great feedback and suggestions. Good luck and hope you all have a great time!

My 7:00 flight to Florida has been delayed until 1:00 AM. Will officially be canceled at 12:50 AM. United Airlines can take a flying leap..... Next available flight not until Saturday afternoon means Fastballdad and Son will attend on Saturday.

Many thanks to Corky9999 for all his help in getting us a great room for our get-together. Pizza and pop were served and those who showed up are glad we did. I guess the weather must have scared away some websters as the crowd was smaller than previously indicated.

It was nice to be able to put faces and real names with screenames. And, if anyone is wondering, everyone got along just fine.

Next step, Feb 27 and HS baseball. Good luck to all.

To those who organized the Webster's gathering, thank you for the opportunity to meet you all and your insights and candor regarding showcases, recruiting, and the tough decisions parents and players have to make regarding their baseball and academic futures. Thanks for making a Webster "rookie" feel like a veteran.

It was good talking with you today! Like I mentioned, I was sorry I missed it. I was looking forward to meeting the "faithful group". Yes, you know who you are.....FastballDad, stickwatcher, 34/33, and especially seeing "itsrosy" again.

It's really funny how we can touch peoples lives in so many different ways, like through this great website. I hope there is a possiblity of meeting again, maybe over some pizza, or as BeenthereIL would offer......a hot dog and a soda!!!!

Oh, and by the way, if we do this again soon, we need to make sure that Devilman gets a special invitation!!!!! I wouldn't want him to feel like he wasn't welcome, or anything like that!!!
