In the early game, it appears that the Marlins may have beaten the Reds. Pitchers of the game as voted by the college coach manning each dugout was Jake "The Snake" Feckley of WHS and Brandon Pierce of Gunter HS. The 2 hitters of the game were Brett Pirtle of Tyler Lee and Max "Mad Dog" Muncy of KHS.
In the nooner, the swingin A's may have beaten the Royals ?-?. Pitchers of the game were Josh Easley of WHS and Chase Weaver of RHS. The hitters of the game were Sammy "The Jet" Lett of Colleyville Heritage HS and Preston Beck of BLHS.
In the nightcap, the Pirates and the Orioles played to another nail biter. Pitchers of the game were Travis Ballew of RHS and Logan "The Bull" Brunkenhoefer. The hitters of the game were Abel Baker of Denton and Alex "A-Y" Yarborough of Allen HS.
The Metro Scout League passed out 5 Scout Books to the following professional organizations: New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians, Washington Nationals, and the San Francisco Giants.
The following 22 colleges were represented: Orel Roberts University, (2) Northeast Texas College, Seward (KS) College, Navarro College, (2) Midland College, McLennan College, University of Kansas, University of Louisiana Lafayette, UC Arkansas, UTD, Eastfield College, Trinity University, Northwestern (LA) State University, Frank Phillips College, Howard College, NCTC, Ole Miss University, The University of Richmond, and DBU .
The 27 books handed out today puts the MSL at handing out a total of 73 scout books to Professional Scouts and College Coaches. We have eclipsed our total from last season and we still have 2 weeks to play.
The kids had the opportunity to listen to Coach Traub today before each game. The MSL wants to thank Coach Traub for inspiring our kids before and during our games. Aaron does a great job with the boys and we thank him for his time today.
