When the virus hit,  we decided to get our son some equipment. Glad we did, because his gym shut down for 3 months. We purchased from Rogue. Their equipment is made in the US and they are located in Ohio. I did a quick check and it looks like they are back to having stuff in stock. We purchased a squat rack with pull up bar/ bench, trap bar and a set of Power blocks. Not cheap...but built to last. He already had a med ball and bands.

We previously built him a plyo wall in the same space when he started doing driveline. The pads are from AKATHLETICS.com. They are just like the ones found in high school gyms. Not that expensive. We ended up taking them down and re-installing them on top of sheets of 3/4 inch plywood. The pads come with 1/2 inch particle board on the back,  but after a short time, the back was torn up. Thought I would include the wall, even if your son is not a pitcher. Catchers and position players have started using driveline for arm care/strength. Rain or shine.

Is the plyo wall simply a layer of plywood on top of the drywall and then the pads? Our plyo wall is in the garage. I took some cheap foam gym floor mats (the interlocking ones) and glued them to the concrete block wall.

I am impressed. I built a plyo wall outside on the exterior brick on the hidden part of the house  away from public eyes on 2x4s and 3/4 plywood reinforced it with 2x padding. After 2 sessions all plyo balls activities were cancelled, the vibrations were felt from the whole house...the level of displeasure and rage from the better half was frightening. He is now going to the park 3 blocks away and using the hand ball wall.
