Anyone have any knowledge about the school, baseball program or coaches?

School is located in Canyon, TX. Games are played in Amarillo, TX(18 miles north of Canyon). Ballpark is Dilla Villa, former home of the AA Texas League Amarillo Gold Sox & San Diego Padre Tony Gwynn. Great ole school ballpark for players to compete & fans to watch. Located in older part of town but next to fairgrounds.
DII baseball program reached the playoffs for the first time in history last season. They have struggled before & since last season. Little known about the coach. They tried to develop players in a summer program with ACE Baseball Academy using the Dilla Villa a few years back, but what I understand, ACE pulled out of the deal after one summer. Do know WT A&M has little to no money to offer in baseball scholarships. The campus is nice and they continue to have major capitol improvement projects. WT A & M does have a great football program since hiring Don Carthel & former NFL 1st round draft pick Ryan Leaf as quarterback coach. They run a spread run & shoot mirroring DI Texas Tech Univ. Great fun to watch during the baseball fall off-season.

Southpaw is right. They have less than 1 scholly and play in a league that most have 9 full rides. Rumor is they might be correcting the scholarship deficit in the coming years. Also, heard they will move back to campus for games next season. Coaches have had to try to win games with walk-ons. They have had some good years/many so-so years. I'm pretty sure that with the scholly situation, that's what I'd expect. JMHO
Wow. Recruiting would certainly be significantly hampered by such scholarship constraints.

This wouldn't be the first time that the program had to move back to campus for games. I remember this happened a few years back for a single season. I knew several players felt cheated having been recruited being told they would play games in Amarillo at the Villa, then home games were at the campus field which had not been well maintained.
Didn't WT re-work the campus baseball field into the A&M girls softball field? Where would the baseball be played if moved back to campus? Would the girls be relocated?
