My son has been recieving e-mails from WVU and UV about camps. No request for information or details about my son, just asking for him to come to their camps. I am not sure how he got on their mailing list. But they are persistant with invitations to all camps.

Don't know if this helps you any or what is says about their program.

But this is different from other programs that we are hearing from that request specific information and separate forms for the HS coach.

Presuming your not my friend who's not a big poster on this site and who's son has already committed to another school. I'll tell you his son from Va. was being recruited by UNM to the point of having plane tickets for an official visit - it looks like UNM is serious about Va. talent.

You have to consider their location is not a "hotbed" of HS baseball (ever seen a team from NM in national WWBA events?) hence they've got to go elsewhere and Va. is as elsewhere as you can get. My friend said they were very serious about his son so my point is they are probably not blowing smoke if they're pursuing your son.

I asked a simple question---

Also think about this abit if you will--the cyberworld of today is making TOO MANY PEOPLE lazy---they think they can just ask a question here or on any site for that matter and get all the info---what happened to RESEARCH ??? Don't people do that any more--- what king of culture are we developing in our country?

I may be old fashioned but I think the brain needs to be stimulated
Mrmom,

Many thanks for the info about UNM. I can't say they have showed a great deal of interest (like your friend's son)in my son but there have been email exchanges with the head coach. I'm aware that the school is not quite ACC/SEC level, but it is the kind of place where I believe my son would do well--both academically and athletically.

Thanks to the posters who have been helpful.
