good coach, good players.. not sure what happened at marcus... marcus fb coach bryan erwin really well thought of, lewisville AD randy mayes well thought of, but several really good coaches in other sports have left (and gotten really good jobs) so it's an odd circumstances but just don't have any other facts...

coach senato had a valid contract extension and was not fired or reassigned.. there's some technical (but important) paperwork to be cleared but believe marcus community being notified of potential change...

It was purely the player quality. No pitching rotation was ever established. No consistancy in the coaching. Happy at times, told players how much they "suck" at others. dallasblog.com: senato did have a contract, but you can say he was fired. Erwin asked him to leave or else they'd fire him to save his own face. So as I said, it was purely the talent of the players that led marcus to 4 rounds. Which they finally got out coached in the 4th round, since Monteray gave up on the game Gill pitched and saved their #2 for game three and trounced marcus. Maybe marcus will finally get a smart coach....

Sure is easy coaching from behind the fence...

Mabra, you finally uttered something worthwhile...

Hey... Blind hog finds an acorn every once in awhile. Besides... you have no room to talk..

Or were you just not good enough to play. you must have been one of the players he told sucked. So where are you playing college ball at if you are so good? It's easy to talk trash hiding behind a screen name on a website

Funny thing is, I didnt play baseball. Didn't try out, just went and watched. Why you ask? Simple, I love baseball, but I'm not talented enough. I played 3 years of varsity football though. I played baseball for 3 years and sat out my senior year to have off time. So actually, he never told me I sucked and i never talked to him. I just observed. So thanks, but its easy to accuse when you dont know who your talking too.
My last post on this subject.

Coach Senato was the head baseball coach at Summit HS in Mansfield. After a game against Mansfield HS he was speaking to parents of one of the Seniors at Mansfield and they mentioned that their son had not received any offers for college.

Coach Senato made some phone calls to different Jr. Colleges for this young man and he ended up receiving a scholarship to an excellent college.

Coach Senato helped a baseball player on the hated district rivals...

So for all you Marcus parents and players who are glad to be getting a new coach, I can't imagine getting anyone that you are not going to complain about.

I just wish my son had been given the opportunity to play for Coach Senato.

Just my lousy two cents...
Senato is a very good coach. Inside track is that Tompkins will probably be the man. Erwin (AD and HFBC) two son's play in the N.Tx Titans organization that is run by Tompkins and Tompkins has removed himself as HC for the 13U team due to fact that several players on the team will be attending Marcus. So take it for what its worth.

And my last post:
I'm friends with a kid who played on this years team and just graduated. Academically he was accepted into many colleges, he was clutch in the playoffs for Marcus, hitting a homerun to spark a rally in the Colleyville series, but when a college coach called Senato to ask about the kid, Senato said that he wasn't worth the coaches time. Aren't you supposed to support and sell your players?

Yes, you support when it is deserved. I am not going to tell a college coach good things about a kid that I don't believe myself. The true character of the kid will come out eventually and that burns bridges. Obviously your "friend" had some issues that Coach Senato thought were worthy of telling the college coach about.

He hit a home run...that deserves college attention now??? There is more to a player than a home run or even his baseball ability. If this kid goes to West Texas A & M because of Senato, or any coach, and ends up being a turd then West Texas A & M is less likely to listen to that coach again. So future players are affected...ones that deserve to go on.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes...there is one!

1) I'll never get elected to that.
2) That is a great question! I think I'll need to get the guy that made Gaylord's Perry old-timers jersey to make me a hat of all the schools I've been a head coach at! Sherman, because that's where I'm at right now.

Glad your back FD....Will you be posting again or is this a one time deal?
I am sure Tompkins would only get the job because of Erwin's kids. You kidding me out in lf. It couldn't have anything to do with him previously being at Flower Mound as the varsity assistant coach for 3 years or him turning around the program at Lake Dallas that was below average and getting them in the playoffs with a record of 24-10 this year.
