Are you kidding
20dad?
No first game jitters? That couldn't be further from the truth!
I have it on good authority...covert status really...deep, deep undercover...no
Plame Jane on this assignment. There
indeed was plenty of pregame jitters. So much so that they were picked up by the National Earthquake Information Center.
Trembling and outright jittery action detected and recorded at various times throughout the afternoon of March 15, 2007 at a high school baseball field in the Spokane, WA area.
Precise triangulation of seismic records indicate that the severe jitters were
not...I repeat
not...originating from the mound, but were quite literally agitating in a frenzy from a collapsible chair clearly marked with a large silk-screened
"BUM" on the back of the upper panel.
The chair, located 2/3 of the way down the left field line, was occupied by this gentleman...
This gentleman, of sorts, was reported to be sweating profusely, and not just from his tongue, and his claws had been nervously nibbled down painfully to the quick on all four extemities. Trees, stumps, shrubbery, and fire hydrants in the vicinity were all reported to have received numerous dousings throughout the afternoon.
After an hour and a half or so the jittery action stopped and trembles of elation were then detected, followed by what appeared to be utter exhaustion as evidenced by the seismograph's flatline.
All I can say is...
"Welcome to the World of High School Baseball BUM!"
