Darn, I did miss it. Would've like to have heard Gibson.

McCarver, I've heard enough of... Didn't he hit a GS back in the 70's and over run the runner at first costing his team the game?

Seems like he talks a lot and gets many finer points incorrect. Back in the 80's when I was in college he was doing the Met home games and I was going to school in upstate NY (no MLB packages back then). We had Yankees, Red Sox and Mets on cable every day. My room mate was a Mets fan, so we split time between Mets and Sox. McCaver drove me nuts...
Forget about his announcing---keep in mind he was Gibsons catcher

Another note---back in the early 90's I took my guys to a Met game--coming down in the elevator after the game McCarver joined us--he stayed and talked baseball with my guys for a good 15 minutes and gave them autographs-- in my book he is A-OK
