Some are coaching other sports, reffing, umping, watching the girls play v-ball or softball or going out to the stadium to watch your boy enjoy those "Friday night Lights" or driving all over for lessons and fall leagues etc.....

So hey folks what are y'all doing with your fall?

For me:
Coaching a fall 12s baseball team.
Running the scoreclock for HS and Jr High football games at the school.. it's a fun job (till the clock froze one night with 16 seconds left and everyone in the stadium is yelling, "START THE CLOCK YOU MORON"

Taking one on the chin HARD. I'm the OC at my school in football and we got beat last night 19 - 18 in double overtime in our conference opener. This was a school that in something like the past 30 years we've only beaten them something like 5 times. This school has dominated our school over the history of the two schools. So I guess being that close is a moral victory.
Hanging out waiting for my son to get clearance to start rehab. I haven't been to a baseball game since he got hurt early in June. I've watched very little baseball on tv this season as well. I have to talk to the ortho surgeon to figure out how to play down an injury (so he's not seen as damaged goods) that caused him to miss the entire summer and fall showcase season. Then start praying the three indoor winter showcases finds him a baseball home. He's already a senior.

Like RJM mine is more of a bummer situation.

I'll be watching my son heal and rehab. Blew out UCL in August and spent next 6 weeks rehabbing shoulder (extremely weak without knowing it) MRI w/dye revealed a chunk of cartilage missing in the elbow and floating around. So instead of TJ surgery last week he had surgery to remove the piece and to clean up the cartilage and to drill down into the bone to allow the marrow to bubble up and build scar tissue to protect that area in the future. A couple of months rehabbing that (has to use continuous motion machine while sleeping (flexing elbow) for 6 weeks or so to help the tissue to form properly) Once that heals he then can have TJ surgery over Christmas break. Thankfully he is only a sophomore so with luck and solid rehab he should be ready for the start of his junior year in the spring of 2012. ugghh!!

He was a 2 sport athlete as well so basketball is out for this year and possibly next too.
Getting ready for the high school baseball season. We have been throwing, lifting and running since the first week in September and wil do so until November 1st. We will then start throwing bullpens on Nov. 22nd and starting swining the sticks on Jan. 1. Always thinking about the baseball season. Since last Wednesday I have been watching almost every MLB postseason pitch, and I have also been giving hitting lessons to an 11 year old.

This fall? Well I tried out for playing the part of 583. I fit the profile alright, but I kept getting my finger stuck in my ear. Something to do with the Bernoulli Principle. Or maybe the Venturi Effect. Or possibly plain ol' bad luck. I didn't do well in physics and I didn't get the job. Frown

It wasn't all bad though. They let me keep the spandex suit and hockey mask. I can't wait for Halloween to get here. Imagine all of those lil' Trick or Treaters ringing our bell and being confronted by portly ol' 583! That reminds me...I gotta' fix that bell!
