I dont want to say any names but this is the offseason workout of a MLB team that my coach has us doing. What do you think about it?

Monday:
-Warm up
-Sprints
-Lower Body training
-Core 1

Tuesday:
-Warm Up (optional)
-Aerobics
-Core 2

Wednesday:
-Warm Up
-Low Level Plyometrics
-Aglility
-Core 3

Thursday:
-Warm Up (optional)
-Aerobic
-Core 1

Friday:
-Warm Up
-Sprints
-Lower Body Strength
-Core 3

Lower Body Strength:
BW Squat 2x10
BW Wide Squat 2x10
BW Split Squat 2x10
BW Single Leg Squat/Reach 2x10

Sprints:
Infield Cut Runs 2sets 2 reps
60 yards- 1 set 4 reps
40 yards- 1 set 4 reps
20 yards- 1 set 4 reps

Aerobic Choices (pick one)
Stationary Bike 30 min
Stair Stepper 30 min
Eliptical 30 min
Jogging 20 min

Low Level Plyometrics
3 square routine 1x20
6" Box Jumps 2x20
6" Box Jacks 2x20
6" Lateral Box Hops 2x20
6" Double Leg Lateral Hops 30 secs

Agility:
Cone Square Drill 2 reps
Lateral Shuffle and Touch 30 sec 2 sets
T- Drill 2 sets
5 star drill 2 sets

Core 1: Trunk Exercises
1. Trunk Curl 2x20
2. Trunk curl with twist 2x20
3. Reverse Curl (on floor with knees to chest) 2x20
4. Bicycles 2x20

Core 2:Medicine Ball on floor
1. Trunk Curl with Med ball, legs elevated
2. Pull over with med ball to clycling legs
3. Situps with twist
4. Reverse Curl
5. Russian Twists

Core 3: Standing Medicin Ball
1. Step to Lunge
2. Step to Lunge, step and throw
3. Trunk twist with throw

Anything done incorrectly will lead to injury, even if weights are not involved...

I certainly hope this is not the workout from a MLB team. Although, based upon the ones I've seen inthe past, it probably is.

This is the reason why most MLB players have their own personaly S & C coach.

I do not mean for this to come off so harsh but the workout is so off base it's scary.

Where is the strength work? Where is lower body work? (a few sets of BW exercises is nothing more than a quick warm-up). Where is the real core work? Where is the posterior chain emphasis? Where is the periodization? Where is dynamic flexibility work? Where is reactive strength work? Why steady-state aerobic work during off-season? The plyometrics are ALL wrong.

I think you get my point. If you want to become a better athlete this is NOT the way to go.
