Fourbases,

My understanding is he is no longer with the program.  My son was a pitcher for Coach Marsh for 4 years and he was an excellent coach & mentor.  My son spent countless hours with Coach Marsh.  Pitching was the programs calling card for many years under Coach Marsh.  I can't say enough great things about Coach Marsh and the job he did at Cornell.  Many alumni were behind Marsh to become the new HC but the AD didn't see it that way and  went outside the program.   That is the ADs perogative and there are many factors and character traits that you potentially look for in a new HC such as ethics, professionalism, leadership, experience and expertise, alumni relationships and financial support.     Whether the ADs current HC choice meets all these criteria is matter of opinion.

When I was younger, my mother told me not to say anything if I don't have something nice to say.  Well I'm going to amend that motherly advice to not say anything publically about Coach Marsh's situation other than to say it was handled very poorly  & unprofessionally for someone who deserved much better.

Thanks Fenway for the info.

Coach Marsh is a classy guy who knows his stuff. I'm sorry to see him leave and wished my son's team could have gotten him because they lost their PC to family and distance issues. Coach Marsh was so kind to son during the recruiting process and his OV visit. He even came last year to son's dugout area before a game to say hello to him, what a classy guy.

I am sure that wherever he lands, that school/team is going to get a great player's coach, motivator and a person that will guide kids in the right direction. I wish him the best.
