I have a Wilson A2000 Firstbasemans glove. I love it but its all a matter of opinion. I know Rawlings makes good gloves. My suggestion would be to a shop and talk with the owner. He usually knows whats up and will you guide in a "player type" fit.
Now dont try this unless its an old glove.. But i hade a friend that there was way too much padding in his glove and so he pulled all the laces out and padded it himself.. Took a few days but was way nice afterwards.. He put like dr. scholls jell stuff in there its kinda weird but now the glove kicks.
Gold Glove series mitts aren't bad, but once they start breaking down, they are dead. They don't last very long, I had a catchers mitt, and after about 3 years, it was so floppy, I couldn't catch with it. THe leather is the game ready type, so I would suggest either get an A2000, or a pro preferred or HOH. It's a pity they don't make A3000 mitts, that would be awesome.
Yeah, same as mine. My player preferred series mitt is lasting longer. **** glove, but quite durable for such a cheap mitt. The reason they break down is the game ready oil injected leather stuff. It has oil already in it, so it just wears out faster. I wish they didn't make them all like that.
