If you have received a NLI and you do not sign the NLI between Nov 14-21st, it becomes void and a new NLI will have to be agreed upon. I would think the school would move on to other recruits.

If you have not received a NLI and you verbally commit after Nov 21st, you would sign it during the next period.

how long does a school need to be notified of a recruit wanting to sign the NLI, and the actual signing of the letter?
the question is a little fuzzy, so for the purpose of your question, I'll assume something ...

1) the school offered a scholarship to the player and player accepted (verbal commit)

in that case, the coach has remained in contact by phone, explaining that the NLI would arrive by overnight delivery ... must be signed within the signing period ... document to be faxed to athletic office & the appropriate copy of the original returned via fed-ex (etc)

in other words .. IF the player has committed, the school already knows and the NLI forwarding process is in the works

hope that helps

Once my son had verbally committed we didn't hear from the coaches until right before signing day. Then they called, let us know we'd be receiving a Federal Express package on the day before the first day in the signing period. The mailing included the specific time and date when he could sign and the exact time when it would be void if not signed.
