That may be the best bet for players.. buy the interchangeable cleats. Then, when you play on natural surfaces you can wear metal, but you can switch them out for the molded cleats for turf games. This would obviously be cheaper than having two pairs of cleats. And I know some have been critical and made comment about wearing "Little League" cleats and whatever. But honestly, that's what I wore my senior year of high school all the time. I had a pair of interchangeable cleats, but never put the metals in at all..

Haven't been to lake point but my son has done a few camps at Vanderbilt. First camp he started with metal then wore a friends pair of rubber mold. Third day he wore a pair of boombah turf shoes he wears for soccer. Said they were by far the best and it rained all day that day. Next year bought a pair of boombah's just for the camp. For just 35 bucks it was well worth it. He even carries a pair in his bag now since every now and then we end up on a turf mound and he says they have great traction on them.

My son pitched and played infield, and we played during/after rain.  He wore boombah turfs and felt that they worked well.  I'm pretty sure most of our other players wore turfs as well.  BTW, the mounds are great and the turf mound plays much better than the (often beat up) dirt mounds you find at most parks. Set his personal MPH record on the mound at Lakepoint.
