I have a friend moving to the Dallas area this summer and is needing help deciding where to live and send his son to school. It's a sad situation since his son is currently a junior and doesn't want to move but the dad has to move for a job. He can live anywhere in the area. His number 1 concern is finding the right situation for his son under the circumstances. The coaches "likeability" is very important. Not looking to bash any coach here so avoid telling me where not to go lets keep it positive. where would you recommend? Looking for a great coach that the players love. The kid is rated in the top 500 players by Perfect Game in the 2014 class.

Best of luck to this young man and his family. General rule of thumb is that the baseball is better in the burbs. Anything north of the airport is always good (Southlake, Grapevine, Keller, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Argyle, Denton).
No question what the answer is. Live in Rockwall. Two high school system and both schools have good coaching and have traditions of being very good in baseball. Heath won state last year and Rockwall High is awesome always. A true hotbed for baseball players.

I agree with this.
I left out Frisco. Frisco has 5 or so high schools, all with a higher than normal concentration on baseball. Coaches are all great guys as well.
Good schools and baseball programs, but tough getting playing time if starting so late. I would suggest talking to coaches first. where is job as the metroplex is huge and traffic for job needs to be considered.
I have a junior player and know the metroplex well. I would not recommend our school to my friend although the baseball is extremely competitive, the coaching situation is not a good fit for him. I agree all the places mentioned have good baseball, he is looking for a coach the players like to play for, it is just dad and son now so a good support system for the kid is Needed. Kid is a PO setting 86-88mph P.G. Speed not daddy speed. Thanks for the help, it's a unique situation.
Frisco Wakeland.....the kids I've talked to say they love playing for Coach Rose and I've never heard anything negative about him on here. The baseball has been really good since he's been there....deep in the playoffs the last two years.
Rockwall-Heath is where I would go if I had a choice. Probably the best coaching staff in the metroplex.
Aleebaba makes a very good point, "tough getting playing time if starting so late".
With only his senior year left to play, it might be smart for your friend to check with the coaching staff of a few of the high schools he is targeting, to make sure there is some potential for earning playing time. Having a Perfect Game profile may help in this regard, since the coaches would be able to verify his velocity etc.
Good luck to your friend!

no better place to play ball or go to school than Prosper. All turf field with the green monster and a coach who's won multiple 5A state championships.
