I think experience will create more mental toughness than any book.. not that a book would hurt.
A player needs to fail many times and learn how to overcome that failure and the fear with which it is associated. In short, play more games.

Reading is only a start. Mental toughness takes time & practice to develop. And the assistance of someone close to the player is critical.
