Spent a small fortune today on dorm "stuff". Didn't buy myself a single thing ('cept a Diet coke) and then drove home trying not to cry the WHOLE way. Definitely not my idea of shopping heaven PS: URKMB's list was VERY helpful
I broke up my list of to do's with each of us having a list of our own...
I had one. BK had one. Hubby had one.
It made it look better in the long run. But in reality I had to stay on them to do their jobs.
Men...!!!
One night I went to Walmart supercenter....late...took my twin sister and we had the lists...shopped for bargains...had a ball...spent too much $$$...and then as we left the store around 11 p.m....the alarms went off.
We had a grocery cart that overflowed...it was hilarious trying to figure out what was setting if off.
They never did determine what it was...but rather got tired of us and sent us on our way...
Once in the car we realized it took us 40 minutes to get from the exit to my vehicle, a mere 50 feet away...
Glad the list was helpful We were on the hunt today, too -- 4 hours of shopping.... not sure who 'won', but a major dent was made. If nothing else, my son is fully committed to get his stuff into the storage items we have bought thus far --- just so he does NOT have to go out again ... AND, he has a laundry basket and detergent. Everything else is gravy IMHO...
I did our list a couple of weeks ago, but I had a good time. I found Big Lots to be really helpful in filling that list cheaply. They had great deals on a huge bottle of laundry detergent, a mini vacuum, storage bins, laundry basket, soap, shampoo, mini-blinds, etc. Then rounded things out at Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Office Depot, and of course Dell.com. Although the new computer is staying home, he's getting the older one. If he stays in school and really goes into Computer Science like he says, we'll get him a super fast technical computer his Junior year.
The whirlwind weekend begins this afternoon. Son gets home from spending the week at his grandmothers about noon today. He's supposed to go visit his boss and get his last paycheck (his boss is also giving him a microwave), go to the bank, get the oil changed on his truck. Then we (and hopefully 10 folks from his troop) spend all day tomorrow shoveling 54 cubic yards of gravel for his Eagle project, then Sunday we're loading the cars and off we go.
Fortunately, we're missing all of the rain that the East Coast is getting and we have super blue skies with highs only in the mid 70's for the next three days!
