I put up a Manny Ramirez topic up a little earlier and it got took off. I don't know what happened, but I'll post it again.

If Manny Ramirez gets voted in as a starter for the MLB All-Star Game, should he accept it and attend the event?

Now I know that Joe Torre has said he shouldn't attend, and I have to agree with him on that.

I also agree with TRhit when he said it's becoming a popularity vote and not on the guy that has produced in the first half of the season, in the topic that magically disappeared.

Manny is only 34,000 votes behind the third place outfielder spot right now.

What do you guys think about the fans voting for the all-stars in MLB? Personally, I don't like it.

I have always thought the players and managers should vote for the All Stars. I believe this will be the best way to ensure the best players of the season, to date, will be selected.

Same thing with American Idol!
Sadly it appears like the fans voting for Manny is sending a message. For some reason it seems like Manny doing steroids isn't as bad as others doing steroids.

The Dodgers have by far the best record in baseball. By far the leading vote getter on the Dodgers team is Manny. What does this tell us?

If anything, wouldn't this be at least as bad as those who used steroids years ago and are being hung out to dry? This one actually happened and resulted in a 50 game suspension after everything that preceded it.

Now that MLB finally has a rule and punishment in force does it make it less of an issue? This might be the best reason for taking the voting away from the fans! The fans are sending a terrible message!
