It would be great to here some opinions on college catching coaches. My son is starting to look at schools and he wants to attend some camps where catching recieves a lot of attention. The closer to the east coast the better.

In college, there are no dedicated catching coaches. Catchers can be handled by any one of the 4 coaches, Head, 2 assistants, 1 volunteer. Each staff has a different makeup on responsibilities depending on the different backgrounds of the coaches.
At my sons school, the head coach was a college pitcher, who now handles hitting, the former pitching coach was a college catcher who also handled the catchers.

I guess what I am looking for are the colleges like CCU who have a coach like Kevin Schnall who is highly respected for developing catchers.
My son went to a CCU camp and will go to others, but we want to target some other schools and go to their camps also.

Joe Wilkins of Pepperdine I think sends out an email regularly about catching instruction/tips. Don't know anything about him but found it online and it comes like clockwork with good tips and pictures. Luckily my sons future Jr College has two past catchers coaching ,one a Big 12 catcher, the other is a conditioning coach/ instructor.
The best amateur catching coaches are in the pros.
Head Coach Mike Kennedy at Elon was a former minor league catcher. I've liked the way they catchers develop there.

Try looking up Coach Weaver at The New England Catching Camp. I heard lots of good things about him and as a matter of fact My son and I have a date with him in early Jan. He is not associated with any specific college but I'll bet he can steer you in the right direction. He is a poster on this site so you might want to check in the "Catching" dept.

Dave Fletcher @ The BATT is a college coach at AACC. He was a former catcher at GW and was with the Marlins also as a catcher. He works with some of the areas top high school and college catchers as well as a couple of minoe league guys. Has camps for catchers only through M.A.Catchers, at the BATT contact Dave www.macatchers.com
Coach Ed Fulton at Averett University in Danville, VA is the best catchers coach I have seen. He played over 6 years for the ST. Louis Cardinals farm system.
Kevin Schnall at Coastal Carolina University.
Steve Johnigan at Baylor University is one of the best. His instruction video is so good, I watched it on New Year's Eve one year.
Coach Pat Sherald WVU, Lamar University, helped develop Tobias Streich drafted last year 5th round Minn. Twins!!
