We are supposed to play Wheeling on Monday. Anybody know anything about them this year?

Opening day comes early. Batavia is playing at Minooka today!
Lake Zurich @ Fremd this Saturday. Based on the forcast showing a high of 34 for Saturday, Son #1 is praying for postponement.
When he was a freshman, his first HS start was 33 degrees with a 30 mph north wind. He said he couldn't feel the ball. He gave up something like 12 runs, about half earned, in 2 innings. After 4 we were losing 17-0. We won the game 19-17. Do you have any idea how long it takes to score 36 runs? It was brutal and long.

I believe Minooka is playing Batavia today

The Bulldogs open up against the Wesclin Warriors (2nd place finisher in A last year) on the 23rd. Then we'll turn around Saturday to play 2 against New Athens.
The Bulldogs will go on to play 12 games in 14 days as they prepare to work towards a 3rd MVC Championship in a row.

I don't know all of the details but Minooka played Batavia today and won 7-6. The winning pitcher was Ryan Jarka. He also had the game winning hit in the bottom ofthe 7th.

Columbia @ Piasa Southwestern (DH) Noon
Columbia finished 4th in Class A in State last season, and have many returning players. Should be a tough opening day for the Piasa Birds.

Minooka beat Batavia 6-5 in the bottom of the 8th. Not a bad game for so early -- both teams did some good things. Field a little soft but not too bad.
Glenbrook North opens up on Wednesday March 21 against Warren H.S. It should be an alright game.
New Trier opens up Monday March 26 downstate against Herrin High School.
