I've never been real concerned with identifying people here --- as a matter of fact, I've found myself to be quite naive when it comes to that....you could come up, introduce yourself, stand there and talk baseball with me for 3 hours and then ask, "who am I on the baseball web?" and most times I'd be forced to reply...."duh?!?!?"
I don't know who Train is -- some have disputed my initial guess and I admitted from the start that I was unsure. In fact, it doesn't really matter to me. If I learned anything in my early days here it is this -- things are not always as they seem. <-- the Rockwall guys taught me that lesson. Train could be a kid (I don't think so) -- he could be a dad -- he could be from Coppell or Flower Mound or somewhere in between.
In all this, people need to remember that there are message board rules regarding negativity towards kids, which has not occurred here. I suggest we all be careful about the assumptions and conclusions we have made along the way --- they may just make a fool (otherwise spelled with 3 letters ending in *ss) out of.....ok, you know the expression.
I spoke to a friend today about the value of this site and, without sprinkling on parades, we need to remember not to let our fun/hobby/spare time distraction overshadow a few of the board's main purposes --- it promote HS baseball, to educate parents on the recruiting process, to communicate information and congratulations, when appropriate, and to provide a sounding board for newbies.
(notice I left out our
b*t*h chat sessions!)
On those notes, I'm beginning to sound too much like a moderator.
West at East tonight ----- a direction will win! Go East!
