You forgot Sun-times first team all-state and Tribune first team Todd Schultz,Todd had one of the best avg in the state, and will be a very good highschool pitcher next year. He hits for power, scored over 60 runs yes 60.last year hit 8 hr,drove in 50 rbi's,hit over 520,and was 9-2 as a pitcher for just an avg team!
...and Todd just committed to the University of Illinois at Chicago.
UIC????? REALLY
Re Todd Schultz...Heard from his dad and then saw it on the website.
He's been a terrific player in high school and all during the summertime for many, many years.

I think Todd Schultz is the best all-around player in Illinois. Best Hitter, and was very good on the mound.
When we saw schultz in the summer this year...and yes i know it was the summer!!!...we (LT) only saw fastballs. was he not pitching to his potential? cause i very highly doubt he went 9-2 with only a fastball.
I think Todd is a fastball/slider type pitcher.
I don't think that he is likely to pitch at UIC.

Todd Shultz was one of the best junior's I played against or with. Other's are Antesberger,McFolling,Bennett,Stevens.
Number one guy I would want on my team is Schultz...but a player who is in the top 5 that I want on my team is joe dunnigan. Last year he hit around .400 with 40 walks and around 20 sb's. Only people that ever went right after joe was caleb fields, shed mossman and very few others. This yeah teams are going to have to pitch to him.

johnj...Why are they going to have to pitch to him?
If he has no one in the lineup to protect him, he'll get nothing to hit. That is what happened to him last year when they played Prov. Then he'll start pressing and going after pitches that he wouldn't go after except for the fact that he'll walk 2 times each game and that means very little with 1st base open and runners on base.
Happened quite a bit last year to someone I know very well.

last year no one was there to back him up but this year there is. Out of the 9 starting position players (including DH) 7 are back. (the 1 hitter and the 5 hitter graduated.) We have had very young teams the past 2 years and now we are more experienced. People will still walk Joe simply becuase hes joe. but this year unlike last year we will be able to make them pay. That is the factor that will determine how many walks he will get and I think we will be able to keep the walk number lower this year.

I feel Tom Dore and Ryan Gryzwa will help Dunnagan get pitched to more, those 2 guys can hit.
we switched up are lineup at the end of the year and our new 4 hitter did a very good job his name is stocker, he will be batting in the 4 spot behind joe, followed by oneil and dore (oneil had the best year offensively out of this years jr's) and gryzwa will bat in front dunnigan in the two spot

I see in the Tribune that they list Dunnigan's high school as Brother Rice... is that a typo or did he leave St. Agy?
Joe DUNIGAN
Beenthere....am I the only one who spelled it wrong??? I've seen it spelled both ways...you didn't answer the question though, but did correct the spelling
im not sure how you spell it but joe dunnigan the 3rd who played for st ignatius last year is still at st ignatius

thanks john j...that ws what I thought, but wanted to make sure he didn't transfer...the Trib made a typo I guess....thanks
Mde...Don't get your shorts in a tither.
Nothing was directed at you. johnj is (purportedly) his teammate and he doesn't know how to spell his name?

johnj...Didn't think that anyone was going to do anything about it. I just gave the correct spelling based on what I know about Joe.
No problem Beenthere...I was still thinking about rz 1's bad bowling at night...lol
I always used 1 "n"...until I saw others were using 2...thought I had been spelling it wrong for awhile..

none there all one position players. you need a multi positional players
Anyone from the LOCKPORT PORTERS!
i had just had player refered to me from rock island.scout recommendation.this kid will be with me next year.the biggest thing i think kids do not realize or they are complacent is the number of kids in il. that can play.same thing that goes with the feeling of being immortal as a teen.kids need to take of their blinders and actual realize how many kids are out there and not in the chicago area
best 4 juniors are mcfolling and oconnor from oprf, porter of rolling meadows and stephens at holy cross.
soxnole...have you seen all 4 of these 05's play?
pitchdoc24, I have had the extreme pleasure of watching them play. At East Cobb I had the good fortune of coaching 3 of them for a tournament and I have coached 2 of them during 4 seasons to the tune of about 600 games. Every one of these boys is capable of playing D1 right now! OConnor has a sizable commitment from FSU which has the best record in college baseball over the last 3 years.McFolling is close wth Florida State as well. Porter will have offers from everywhere and is close with stanford. Stevens is also can't miss.Add Dennehy (Tim) to that list.
sox...You might want to "amend" your comments about O'Connor and FSU in light of the fact that they are not supposed to be "recruiting" him until after July 1st of this year.
Would hate for one of these threads to get on an "investigation" desk of the NCAA...however unintentionally.

BTLIL, As you are now aware based on some other threads there is nothing wrong with an early committment as long as the 2 parties are on campus. Also they can correspond and recruit all they want via email and the U.S. mail after 9/1/junior yr. We call and speak with the coaches regularly.
...You can call them but they can't call you back until after July 1st...before his senior year.
That is correct .They can not contact you by phone. They can however email and write letters all they want after 9/1 junior yr.
