I was wondering the same thing about the two kids from Portland ME who chose Vanderbilt. Why wouldn’t they go to University of Maine at Orono? It’s only two and a half hours north of Portland and four and a half hours north of Boston.

One of them graduated this year. He’s slotted at about 1.2M. He may sign. Is it wise to reclassify when you’re potentially the top high school pick in next year’s draft? The other has another year of high school. He also has a 95 mph fastball.

Several tippy top prospects have reclassed lately. I think the notion is that they will be one year younger when they reach free agency. Watched the #2 and #12 draft picks play this last weekend. Wasted time for them competition wise.

The Mountain West reference made me think of this...

On the other side of the coin, what schools, year in and year out, should have great sports programs but just don't?

San Jose State comes to mind.  Fresno State, for a very long time, did great things in football, basketball, baseball and softball.  Now, consistently two notches below where they once were.

University of Texas

I don't know this guy and don't care to know him. He may be a great person but I doubt it. Ask yourself this. If you knew what you were doing agitated and irritated so many people would you continue to do it? I can't help but believe there are Vandy fans and Players that would love him to just stop. Anyone that knew what they were doing got on so many peoples nerves that bad but they continue to do it just seems like a total as s. I could be wrong. He may be a great person. But ...............................

Why would these guys stop? They’re becoming nationally known by being arseholes.

I’ll have to find something else to do this afternoon. I won’t watch Vanderbilt games because of these guys. Maybe I’ll shove splinters under my fingernails for something less annoying to do then listen to these clowns. If I wanted to listen to shrill noises in my den I would light a bonfire under the smoke detector.

Go everyone else! Beat Vanderbilt! Send the clowns packing! Make watching college baseball great again.

I contacted the Omaha organization that manages the CWS. I told them Vanderbilt games are unwatchable. They responded. They’ve had a lot of complaints.

Disruptive noise making will be addressed with one warning before further action is examined.  This is a building policy and we do intend to enforce it.

On a personal note:  I have been suffering from mild hearing loss at high frequencies ever since I was young.  Watching Vandy last week with my son, and having discussed the whistler BS before the game, I found that I could not hear the whistles, only the clapping. I said to my son, this is awesome -- ESPN has figured out to filter the whistling out of the audio. He said nah, I hear it fine and it's very annoying.

Oh, well.
