Why the heat ???

We have always said that if an umpire messes up then they should be disiplined. In almost every case an umpire gets fined there is usually a coach and/or a player along for the ride. The instances of umpires being fined compared to players and coaches is very very low. When that changes get back to me.

we do not know that for fact---MLB is very secretive, at least up until now regarding fining umpires

When you can give me real facts on both sides then YOU can get back to me--fair enuff

Shoot I've read about umps and refs getting disciplined plenty of times. Freshest one was last year, couldn't tell ya his name, but he stepped out in front of HP in the B's face and said something that led to B's unfavorable reaction and a quick ejection. Blue was fined/suspended or both, well deserved IMO, and it came out in the next mornings sports page.

Nothing all of sudden about it. Umpires have been disciplined, lost post season assignments and released for years.
