I had started the thread and asked that it be deleted.
One thing I overlooked was that the Milb season may not be finished. There is a chance for a 5th game of that series.
As with CD's son and others, I try and make it a habit to not post anything unless and until their season is complete.
Just a superstition I have knowing all the changes that can occur in a very long Milb season.
I don't want to jinx any of these players. I know it could sound dumb for me to think this way, but I have reasons. I don't know if they are good ones. Some probably wouldn't think so.
My apology to everyone for starting the thread prematurely.

For whatever reason, the original thread blew up.

The pitcher we are talking about is justbaseball's son Erik Davis. If we can't talk about the season that he had, then we shouldn't talk about anyone on the hsbbweb. Nobody had a better year this year than Erik and please join me in congratulating him and his family FWIW - nobody is more supersticious than me - including justtbb Big Grin Baseball has a tendancy to do that to you Eek

Thanks for the links! Since it's not your superstition, it's OK. Smile
Thanks to all. Don't blame infielddad - I asked him to shut it down.

Anyways, the even BETTER news is that the Fort Wayne TinCaps won the Midwest League Championship tonight...the very first time in franchise history. They tied a record for best season ever in the history of the Midwest League (101-48). And they had the best record in ALL of pro baseball.

So, as you can see, Erik played on a very talented team and while we are awfully proud of his accomplishments...we all know that W's are a team statistic. No one is more aware of that than Erik.

This is the best feeling, baseball-wise, I have had since his team won the local Bronco League championship when he was 10. I can still picture that whole scene in my mind. For tonight, I have to rely on the images created by the TinCaps radio announcer, Dan Watson. Its a beautiful image too.

Thanks all. Now lets get back to the business of helping those coming along behind us. Wink
