Certainly he has the athletic talent to do anything he wants to do.  I'm a young 51 years old and I've seen my share of professional two sport athletes come and go.  Deion Sanders, Bo Jackson, Danny Ainge, John Elway, and Brian Jordan come to mind.   These are different times and clubs are protective of their multi-million dollar assets (as they should be).  I'm trying to understand is he doing this because he wants to, can't decide which sport to pursue, or it gives him an advantage/leverage in the draft process

There is little question in my mind Florida State will do everything in its power to help & support him academically through this.

I can see it happening.  He could get an incentive based contract.  The notoriety the team would get by having him, jersey & ticket sales would go through the roof.  If he is good enough, it could happen.

Quite a few Stanford players have played both…successfully.

John Elway, Toi Cook (who played DB in the NFL) and others…even Coach Marquess.

More recently - Toby Gerhart and Tyler Gaffney.  Toby, who we knew pretty well, used to go to parts of both football and baseball practice in the Spring.  Amazing when you think about the time that took.

PG is correct.

I am not a big fan of his or his team, however, the girl bringing charges had relations with Winston and someone else as well.

Not smart on either's part, but was she really raped?

I personally don't think so and neither did the district attorney.

Is she suing him in civil court?  For what, future earnings?

As far as OJ and this, how can you even compare the two?

baseballmania,

Obviously you believe he is/was guilty.  But they didn't even charge him. I actually know Jameis and like him.  That said, I have no idea if he was guilty of anything.

OJ was charged with Murder!  There were NO charges in this case.

If he should have been charged and was found guilty! I feel sorry for the girl.  But he wasn't even charged, but many still take it for granted he was guilty. That makes me feel sorry for him.

If he should ever lose a civil suit, I might feel different.  I just don't think that is going to happen.

i think the biggest problem is they found two different samples of DNA in her pants. One that was not identified.

keewart, Russell Wilson is amazing.  I've never seen anyone more focused to win in my life.  I even heard he was toying with the idea of playing baseball again after he got drafted.

If Winston is anything like Russell Wilson I know he can do it.

BTW, how many of us have been falsely accused of something?  Probably each of us.  It is humiliating and if Winston is innocent just so wrong in many ways.

If you read the police report about Winston the facts that are indisputable are enough to keep him off any team.   Some of Winston's teammates admitted that he was in the room with the girl having relations while they were there filming it.  Pretty sick if you ask me.

How many college baseball players would be suspended from the team if they were caught up in this type of event?

And I've never been falsely accused because I don't put myself in situations that would make this happen.

With the understanding I haven't read the police report (and not trying to start something) but having relations and having his buddies film it is sick but not illegal.  Just because you figure out the next day you did something you shouldn't have doesn't make it illegal.  It makes it a learning experience if you're smart.

Who know how many baseball players would be suspended?  Probably same number of football and basketball and whatever sport that did suspend while there will be some who will not suspend.  That's really a tough choice because is being accused enough to sit someone until they are clear?  As someone who teaches civics and government I have a hard time standing in a classroom telling my students about innocent until proven guilty and then suspending one of my players for being accused of something.  Seems a little hypocritical but I do understand why you would because you probably at least put yourself in a position to make the team look bad even if you didn't do anything.  But until it's proven you did or didn't do anything can you really punish them?  I'm not sure because I can see both sides.

I agree with you to never put yourself in situations but people are still going to talk fif they are mad enough or jealous enough.  I like to think I'm a good and decent person who doesn't put myself in bad spots but I've had a bunch of bad things said about me by many people because they were mad or jealous.  Sadly, you still have to prove your innocence in those cases.  It comes with the territory if you are a person in leadership or in the public.

Last month the Texas Rangers selected Wilson in the "Rule 5 Draft"
