Just thought I'd take time to rub in the fact that my 11 y.o. just played his first game of winter ball. We had a cold front come through Monday so it was about 40 degrees at game time. We woke up to frost this morning but these days are few for us.

Might have to pick up a pair of gloves to keep score on these cold nights.

Darn! We have to go through that terrible "OFF SEASON" here in Tennessee. The trees turn all different colors of oranges and yellows. Sometimes but not often we are forced into the serene feeling of peacefulness created by the white fluffy stuff on the ground. Hot cider often replaces the cold glass of "ice tea" we get hooked on during the summer months. Parents are forced to bond with their sons as they take private baseball lessons inside. Unlike some things in my life this is one area where I truly appreciate the change. Wink

80Patriot,
I don't like the real COLD either but we have some great falls and springs here. Today is Dec 3rd and we're expecting a high of 56 degrees today but it will soon drop into the 20s at night. Gets pretty dreary around Jan - Feb but that period is short lived and things start warming back up in March. I lived in Ariz for a while and I did miss the falls and springs. I admit Florida is nice all the time but doesn't that tend to make you lose perspective. ---- Nah, probably not this time of year. Big Grin

The thing I hate most about the cold is long pants. Including the only suit I own I have 5 pairs of long pants. Two are jeans and some sweats. I wear shorts until it gets below 50.

I relate this time of year to fishing. With the three boys always in baseball or football this is the time of year we get out the surf rods and drive the hour to the beach.

That describes fall ball or the start of the season in the spring here in NH! Well except for the "these days are few for us" part! Usually a few games get rescheduled due to snow in the spring or the field is still under snow and pushes the start of the season out!!

Oh to live in florida or the west coast.....lol
