Invites to camps only indicate an interest in getting a check from you for attendance and not genuine interest in recruiting for the program. If you ever wonder about such correspondences, I would contact the coaching staff at the institution and ask them of their interest level.

Best of luck to your son.

I'd like to mention that Cangelosi Baseball and Bo Jackson's Elite Sports have just become a sponsor of the HS Baseball Web. Welcome, and thank you for supporting our website and helping to keep our forums free to members!

You'll find the Cangelosi Baseball / Bo Jackson's Elite Sports banner "Front and Center", at the top of the main page of our forums:
http://hsbaseballweb.com/eve/forums

Just click the banner for details or to register for the collegiate camp.

Thank you, and welcome!

For information for the camp:

It is amazing to me that before stuff gets blasted out here on this site, any of these adults cannot come and discuss these things face to face. I am right there at the camp all you have to do is come talk.

If you are completely unhappy, please let me know and I will give you your money back right now and you can not come next week.

You had great coaches there that busted there butts working with the kids. How many times do you go to things like that and the coaches just sit around.

None of the stuff will be done next week at the camp. I had planned to do it where we had a classroom and different meeting rooms in the dome but it was not going to work out this time. As far as evaluations go, if you want one, just come and ask me. the coaches are not allowed to hand them out.

Now OFBengals, please give me a ring if this was such a disaster for your son and he can just sit out next week and I will give you your money back.

This took at ton of time to plan after finding out that the dome was not going to be ready. There will be no evaluations or running tests or agility tests.

If you do not want to come next week, please call me as I have about 45 kids on a waiting list and I am sure they would have no problem coming to this disappointing camp.

Thank you

Mike
Coach, you could have addressed these things to the campers at the beginning of the camp so that the campers knew the situation. Why is the onus on the customer if you cannot deliver on what was promised at the sign up? Now, if the camper has a concern, he is going to worry that this creates a poor reflection of himself to the schools. This is an unfair perception all because your camp could not deliver as promised.
I thought this camp was EXCELLENT despite being a little limited with space. The coaches got a chance to see every kid warm up --which included a little running --, go thru defensive drills , and lots of different hitting stations. Coaches dont always nessessarily have to have the stop watch out for everything to get a good idea of who can do what. If you ask the kids ..i bet they like the fact that they can go to one of these things without having the pressure of running a good time or having their arms clocked . There can be too much emphasis on that.
C. Steeley, Nice try at trying to deflect the blame. I am sure you worked hard to make it as good as possible, I sure the people that spent their haed earned money on your event also worked hard for it. Blame the customer for trusting that you will provide what you advertised. The dome wasn't ready so you do not have to provide the bill of goods you sold people on. The best defense is an offense? Nice strategy... Then threaten the person who spent their hard eaened money, that you will replace them if they are not completely satisfied with your less than advertised results. What a class act... If you were not going to provide everything as advertised the right thing would have been to let people know so they can decide if it was worth their time and money to attend.
This thread no longer makes sense because ofbengals08's post was deleted. Was it deleted by him?

I don't want to be misunderstood. My kid liked it and got a great benefit out of the camp. My son went because of a recomendation of a DI coach that was there. I just thought that ofbengal08 made a good point. I was not attacking the hard work of the coaches and organizers.
This will be the last time I post on this topic. If anyone goes to this camp and says that it was not worth their money, they can have it back.

If anyone on this site that knows me or what i stand for knows that I am not in this for the money and have no problem making sure that if you are not satisfied, you can have the money back.

Please understand, no one was more disappointed that we could not do more because of the space. I wanted it to be three weekends long with more coaches. I had an NCAA Compliance director ready to come talk, as well as a sports dietician and sport psychologist.

The times and agility and speed testing was going to be done separate from the college coaches being there. This is because it is against NCAA regulations to test agility, strength, or speed at a camp during a quiet period. All activities have to be directed at improving baseball skills.

From now on if you are unhappy with anything that we run, please call me. If you are unhappy, i am sure we can work something out for you and your son.

Highheat, you seem like you have never had anything good to say about the sparks or cangelosi baseball. If you would ever like to sit down and get a true idea of what we are about, send me a pm. or keep blasting us on here.

We as coaches and parents need to use forums like these to discuss the kids we work with and how we can become better at it. If anyone has ideas about how this camp can be better I am all ears, and if you know me, you know I always make time to talk about anything.

Thank you for those who attended. The college guys did a tremendous job. The sparks guys that helped out with the facility were awesome and I thought that most of the kids worked extremely hard and got a lot out of it.

Coach, nothing close to a complaint here. Every kid and every parent I took up there had nothing but good things to say. And I was there, I can't say enough good things.
Well run, great coaching both from the college coaches and the Sparks staff, not to mention Cangi, who was more involved thany any other big-leaguer I've ever seen.
In short, you guys put on a great event despite having to shift gears at the last moment. Wish I could be there next weekend, but I've gotta stay down here.

Thanks to all you guys for all you do,
Ben Diggle

My son had the opportunity to attend the Cangelosi Camp over the weekend. He had a great time. It's only been a couple days but has said several times he was so glad he went. Although he was a little nervous, felt it was a very good way to meet and talk with the college coaches in attendance as he begins with the recruiting process. He continues to be amazed by the knowledge and the contacts the Cangy/Sparks coaches have.
Great development camp Coach Steele! Our son thought it was a good way to interact with a big group of college coaches. Thanks to you, the Cangi group and the Sparks coaches for spending two weekends helping our kids as they take the next step in their baseball life. Looking forward to next weekend just as much as we did to this past one!
