Nice quotes.

I particularly like the one you list from Warren Spahn, "Hitting is timing. Pitching is upsetting timing". I believe I've heard Maddux say that in the past as well.

I think that really sums up why pitchers who don't have a tremendous arsenal are able to be successful. For example, a pitcher like Jamie Moyer was able to pitch many seasons because of his ability to change speeds and throw any pitch in any count. That can be just as powerful a weapon on the mound as a 96 mph fastball.

LOVE these quotes, all of them. Printed them off and gave them to my 2012 pitcher son. I particularly like the going inside quotes. I think too many kids and coaches are enamoured with the outside corner. I have see it too many times with pitchers living out there, good hitters just taking it the other way all night. Got to mix it up with some pitches inside just to keep the batters honest.
