As I sat at AT&T park yesterday, I was moved by the words spoken by #41. When it was all said and done, I said man I wish I would have recorded that. Whether you're a Giants fan or not, this was pretty awesome. Here is some of what he said.

Wow. Class act through and through.
Thanks for sharing Picked Off. That was freaking awesome!
Used to like him even after he left the Royals. However, he turned me off quite a bit last year after the World Series when he was ripping the Royals in the post game 7 interview.

If that's all you have after watching that clip, I feel bad for you. Sounds like sore KC loser. I watched that interview & he was not ripping KC. That sure must have felt good, picking up his third ring off a team that traded him. By the way, the Giants played CO yesterday and the first thing he said before this clip was thank you to CO team for standing out on the field during this celebration. He recognized that some of the staff were still around from when played there and that meant a lot to him. To the other CO players who weren't, he apologized that management made them cone out to watch.
I would ask that you do a search on the breadth of his work. Being CO, you might like the attached article. Don't want to start a battle hear, just wanted to stand up for one of the good guys in MLB. JMHO!
Yup, sent to son, thanks. Just in case you didn't already share it with him over Tri-tip Sunday
FWIW as a resident of KC whom has the dirt that Saberhagen walked on at game 7 in 1985 scooped into the pockets of my jeans while on the field as a 23 year old. Jeremy Affeldt was better off leaving KC. They tried as the could to make him a starter and he had a consistant blistering problems and at times control issues. The organization back then was a mess, scouting was a joke and numerous solid players moved on b/c lack of ownership funding and mis-guided signings and a revolving door or players, some good and some pathetic and I believe the Glass family just purchased and I knw Dayton Moore was not the GM. He was well served leaving and frankly don't care what he said. At that time they may have told him he was washed up, not the first player that's heard that and came back to make the org. that told him that eat a $hi+ sandwich.

Hey roothog66,
Saw this today and thought of you. Hopefully this helps you with his likability. Congrats to KC winning the series. I only wish it would have gone the distance so we would of had a couple more games to watch.

Eh...maybe I was a little too tough on him. My nerves were still raw at the time.

We should be watching game 6 tonight. KC deserves all the credit for putting a great team on the field and for playing aggressively and playing well, but I'm still a little pi$$ed off the Mets for not at least playing MLB-caliber defence and extending the season for a couple more games.

Coming into the series, I really thought that the one area where KC had an advantage the Amazings could not overcome was in the middle of the infield. I think that really proved to be the difference.
edit: However, Flores proved to be better than I thought and Murphy worse (even though I already had a pretty low opinion of DM's defensive skills).
