My parents are thinking about doing this for me, the cost is $695.00 and next year they will update the video at no charge, should I do this? Thanks!!

they say "video at no charge" to make you think the addition of this service is actually free, when it really isn't.
Do your own video.Coaches like homemade ones anyways.Some wont even look , some will.Dont spend money on this recruiting video.

Video you own. Video several games and compile a DVD with about 15min worth of pitching showing you pitching from the windup, the stretch, getting a hit or two to show your composure, etc.

do the videos have to be in a live game or can they be from a practice?
You can obviously get better angles in a practice mode versus a live game....not sure what College coaches are looking for?

A few years ago when my son was corresponding with a D3 coach and sending video, he commented that he wanted live game video as well.
Son and I just completed a few visits including 1 that would make Haverdad very happy.Every coach requested videos and every one made the same comment that they did not need anything fancy just some raw footage of my kid playing baseball including some batting cage work. I am sure these coaches know what they are looking for.
I did that video service with Wladyka last year. Terrible idea. Way too expensive and a total waste. He sends your video in a file along with every other player that was there and most schools just throw it in the trash! Total waste of money and I didn't even decide to go back for the second update this year. He also doesn't put much effort into his rating of players. When I was a sophmore last year he listed me as a 4 (which means high level D3 prospect) and now I'm getting attention from mid-level D1 schools. Don't waste your time and especially don't waste your money.
RHP22, when you mention interest from D1, are you referring to the standard letter? "We have heard about your great baseball abilities and academics and would like to get more information about you. Please fill out the enclosed questionnaire about yourself." Or are you getting phone calls? The letters don't mean squat, my son has a whole file of them.
