I heared from a couple of people that if you work out with a wood bat you will hit better with an alluminum bat, is this true?

That sounds weird, but it could have a psychological effect on people, you never know. Some weird things do wonders for people.
If you can hit with wood, you can hit kid and your likely to hit even better with metal... On the other hand, being able to hit well with metal doesn't necessarily mean you will see similar results with wood...it depends on your swing.

Hitting with wood requires a hitter to use more movement and more momentum. But unless you know how to do that, just using a wood bat will not make you a better hitter. Maybe over a long period of time and after you subconciously make some adjustments to help swing it more effiecently. Then sure it may help.

Wood gives you feedback on hits other than in the sweet spot. That part is great. Metal has a larger area so it may help you in that regard.
The problem is swinging a bat that doesn't have the same weight, length, ratio of the two, handle diameter, balance, etc. I doubt you can match your metal bat with a wood bat.
The game fell will be different and timing and comfort are a big part of hitting.
