what a game! kilcrease pitched a 1 or 2 hit shutout (i cant remember)
It only took RR 5 innings to shut the doors down on the Highlanders. 4 HR's by RR. Peterson, Clouse, Elander (SOPH) (2)
Elander had the "walkoff" in the fifth, a three run bomb to center, his second of the day. I just dont know if the Woodlands realized what RR had up their sleeve. Thats early season HS baseball for ya.
RR put up 4 in the first, 3 in the second, one in the third..

Being 10 minutes away from TWHS, we always have the scoop on the woodlands. #1 pitcher, Stevens, didn't throw the entire tourny because of district opener this tuesday. #2, Eibner has broken bones in his throwing hand. The starting centerfieler Alleman is out 6 weeks with a severe knee problem so he didn't play. All 3 are preseason D1 commits. Round Rock still beat a great team but had Stevens or Eibner pitched, I thin it would have been a pitcher's dual. Having lost a 1 run game to them right before that, it was satisfying to see rock beat them.

Btw, the Spring/RR game was ALOT closer than that 6-0 score. Both teams had opportunities to blow it open and neither did until the 8th inning.

And the Spring/Westlake game...wow. hideous defense lost that one.

It's no rumor. Eibner (P,OF) out two wks/w broken bone in left hand, and Alleman (P,OF) out 3-4 wks/w knee injury. Both recovering from surgery.

What a positive post!
Another TWHS 2007 pitcher, Colton McKey suffered a knee injury in Football and is also out. TWHS lost a couple 2007 pitchers to TW College Park at least one of which would have been a contributor on TWHS. A few other position players moved over as well.

As noted, most of the 2007 class stayed at The Woodlands. A couple of the '07's playing at College Park are transfer in's.

The 2008 class did not have a choice and there are many talented '08 players College Park.

TWHS still has a talented pitching staff despite the injuries noted. I am sure Coach Eastman is giving some a chance during the pre-season to show their stuff. The fact that Round Rock scored 11 against these pitchers is not as impressive as the fact the the RR pitchers shut out TWHS. TWHS still has plenty of sticks despite the injuries. I am sure we will see both teams go deep into the playoffs...and hopefully we will see the injured kids get better quickly and nobody else getting hurt.
