I'm jealous. Cold, wet, etc here in Ohio. We don't have anything formal start for 4 more weeks, and then lucky to get outside by mid March

In some years I'm still be riding my snowmobile in mid March, and my two sons are working out indoors somewhere!
Last year my son's team here in OH got on the field for the first time the Saturday before their Monday season opener. Tough to start a season with nothing but gym time...but fortunately everyone up here usually has the same problem...as very few of the smaller schools here in NW Ohio have indoor facilities....so a gym and the cages is what they all deal with.
Bum, Jr. played a season in Loraine, OH (summer collegiate leagues). They had rain out after rain out. He had to come back to Washington State to dry off.

Wait till your watching College ball in the 20's with driving snow. College ball in OH for D3's anyway start in late February.
A lot of teams play there first games in Chillicothe or at athletes in action in Xenia. Saw my sons first college game in 25 degree temps, with snow squalls blowing in from the outfield.
