Right now my workout is pretty generic. Work all body groups, but use a fair number of machines which is something I want to get away from. Bench and Power Clean are main compound lifts. Can't squat until winter becuase of a stress fracture in the lower back (spondylolysis). Diet is pretty good, should probably eat more veggies. Very seldom drink pop. Twice a day I have a protein shake and multi-vitamin.

I have read many of your posts (thats where I found the Buddha reference Smile). Can't find what I'm looking for really though. I don't need a throwing program, more of a lifting/plyometrics one. I've also searched the internet and can only find descriptions of many different lifts. Not really any sort of workout plan. Thanks

If you are not starting your training until the winter, keep doing your research. There are a lot of different philosophies on the best ways to train--find what will work for you. Just avoid internet sites where teenagers are giving most of the advice--I have seen too many kids who have no clue what they are talking about (but I have seen plenty of intelligent ones also Smile )

There are lot of great books out there on sports training. My favorite site is www.fitfriends.com. A lot of training professionals visit that site, and you can also find out about a lot of the good books that are available. If you go to amazon.com, you can find a lot of the books in "used" condition which are about half the price.

The more knowledge you gain and the better informed you are, the more successful your training will be in my opinion!

To build arm strength, long toss, JOBE, and core work are the best ways to accomplish your goals. Since you have until the winter to research, you should have enough time to figure out that core work and "abs" are not synonyms. I would greatly recommend seeing a physical therapist in your area about doing surgical tube work to strengthen your arm, it worked wonders for me. For core work, I recommend Unbreakable Abs, I even have a review and log of it that you can find on here. Make sure your mechanics are good as well, that usually makes all the difference.
Adding on to what MAXX is saying, make sure you take notice as to who is giving advice and always grill the people who tell you something with questions like, why?, how?, do you practice what you preach?, etc. You don't need to agree with everything everyone tells you and the more questions you ask the better off you will be, but make sure to use the search because chances are someone has asked it before you. If not, or if there was no answer, feel free to post.
