Hello,

I'm hoping that someone can make some sense out of this for me. My son had chosen a school he wanted to go to and from everything that we knew he would be going on a full scholarship. Up until recently they had only seen video of him pitching. My son attended the Arizona Invitational and Fall Classic. He was also just recently in Jupiter as well. We hadn't heard anything from the school so I e-mailed my son's league coach to see if he had any information for us. I was shocked when we got the response that there were serious concerns my son was going to sign in the draft next year so the offer was signifigantly reduced. If my son doesn't sign in the draft next year they would change the offer. We haven't discussed our position on the draft with anyone so I'm not sure why that concern exists. Has any parent experienced this before? Did you move on to another school or hope they would come through with the original offer if he doesn't sign?

I went back to read your previous posts and I see that he has been scouted by MLB, so that in itself gets out pretty quickly. Although you haven't discussed it, it's apparent to me your son is very much interested in going pro just from what I have read. Especially once he turned down D1 over JUCO.

You need to go straight to the source about the information you received. I personally have never heard of that scenerio.

Good luck.
