Sportsmom - Welcome to HSBBW.

From my experience it is difficult to determine which schools will be in attendance, PGStaff may be able to give you an idea of who have attended in the past.

Short of that, I would focus on what schools he is interested in and send them a introduction letter and that he is interested in playing for their program, if he has not already and let them know that he will be attending the event, what team he is on, and what number he is. It would also be good to give them his coach's contact information as well.

Good Luck and enjoy the ride!
You would have a shorter list listing the ones that will not be there. To be honest the coaches already have some guys they are going to want to make sure they see. They are going to make sure they see certain teams. But those teams will be playing someone so those teams will be seen as well. And at the WWBA events there are so many coaches its almost a given there will be many coaches at almost all the games. Unless your son has some credentials or word of mouth from respected sources that these coaches have been aware of an email is not going to get them out to see your son at this event. They will be watching the games and scouting players. If your son stands out he will be noticed. Good luck

I have never gone to this even we did not want our players to miss that much school, do many west coast coaches show up for these fall events in FL? There are a couple of showcase tournaments in AZ that most of the west coast schools camp out at.

I absolutely agree that coaches tend to migrate to stronger programs, but even though they may have players they are looking for, coaches know that they can't all get blue chippers and if they don't know the player exist, they don't know to look for you.

I tend to error on the practice of letting more (not an outrageous number) know than less. There were guys on our team who could have gone to a lot of schools, but they chose to only focus on the top schools and had difficulty getting noticed by good but not top schools. When I talked to the schools about the player, they said, they would have loved to recruit them but they did not know he was interested and had not been watching them.
Homerun04 and Coach May, thanks for your replies. My son has gotten some interest from a few schools out west - but has not had any exposure in the Southeast. So we will definitely email the schools he's already heard from - I just don't know how many of them will be in Florida. And we will contact a few from the east that he is interested in - but as you say, with no prior knowledge of him it might not help.

I'm feeling a little (a lot) overwhelmed right now.
sportsmon, A recommendation on emailing the college coaches, at this late date, is to make the subject line such that it will draw him attention to read it before the event takes place. The coaches may be receiving a high amount of emails that may or may not be time sensitive and you want him to open yours if he is going before he leaves.

Overall, the most important aspect of the event is how your son performs and what experiences he draws from participating. The event will give him the opportunity for exposure, but if you can direct a couple more eyes his way, it may help differentiate him from the other players, it would be topping on the cake.

A player does don’t need to be seen by all the coaches, he needs to be seen by the right coaches that will give him the opportunity to continue to be recruited and possibly be committed.

Good Luck it can be stressful, but do enjoy the ride.
